NIMS signed MOU with University of British Columbia, Canada

(March 25, 2008) The Composite and Coating Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on research cooperation with the Department of Materials Engineering (MTRL), the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada.

The two sides agreed to a 5-year research cooperation relationship aimed at understanding of structure and mechanical behavior of natural composite materials. The two sides plan to promote exchange of researchers, exchange of information, and joint researches on the field. MTRL at UBC has carried out interesting and important researches linked to mechanical properties of bone and seashell. High expectations are placed on the cooperation achievement.
