Prof. Hiroyuki Abe of Government’s Council for Science and Technology Policy visited NIMS
On March 12, Prof. Hiroyuki Abe, an executive member of the Council for Science and Technology Policy (CSTP), a government Cabinet Office, visited NIMS. After a briefing by President Kishi, the Councilor inspected the NIMS Sengen Site, Namiki Site, and Sakura Site.
Explanation of R&D on atomic switches
Following a tour of NIMS’ record-setting 930 MHz NMR magnet, he received explanations on the progress of the International Center for Young Scientists (ICYS), research on fabrication of nano-scale materials, and R&D on nano-testers and atomic switches. Shortly after these presentations, he attended the Second BMC-NIMS Symposium – Fusion of Medicine and Biomaterials for Supporting a Healthy and Safe Society – where he delivered the keynote speech entitled “Japan’s Science and Technology Policy.”
