Job Summary
 The successful candidate will work on growing thin-film heterostructures of quantum/functional materials, performing microfabrication using photo- and electron beam lithography, and characterizing electrical transport properties.

Qualification
  1. Applicant should (or is expected to ) have a PhD
  2. Communication skills in English.
  3. Preferably, experience in thin-film growth by vacuum process, microfabrication in cleanroom, x-ray diffraction, electrical transport measurement.
Starting Date Negotiable
Term Initially one year, renewable up to five years based on annual evaluation
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations.
Work Place NIMS Namiki site
Scope of Work Location Changes In addition to NIMS offices in Tsukuba, any other locations depending on research progress
Work Hours According to NIMS regulations (e.g. 8 hours and 15 minutes per day)
Holiday Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays, in addition to paid leave.
Salary / Supply
 Supply followed by NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance will also be covered.
Trial Period Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Worker’s Accident Compensation Insurance.
