Research Summary Development and characterization of wide-bandgap semiconductors MEMS or Electronics or optical devices.

(Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee's position)
Qualification Ph.D degree in the field of Electronic and Electrical Engineering or Condensed Matter Physics or Material Sience.

Experience and knowledge in either the following fields: MEMS, Semiconductor devices and physsics, magnetic sensors, desirable if having numerical simulation.
Starting Date October 1, 2024 or later (to be discussed)
Term 1 year. Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations.
Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-Site (Tsukuba city, Ibaraki, Japan)
The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours 7 hours 45 Minutes a Day, or Discretionary labor system*
*Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays, New Year holidays, annual paid leave, and other holidays as stipulated in the NIMS Regulations.
Salary / Supply According to NIMS regulation. Commuting allowance and national insurance are also included. Fixed overtime pay included in monthly salary (Article 10, item 3 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees.
Trial Period 2 months from the start date of employment
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirement.
