Josephson flux
Josephson vortices are the vortices which run parallel to the layers of the HTSCs. Driven by currents under the appropriate conditions, they have potential applications to powerful devices emitting electromagnetic waves in the TeraHertz range, which is another subject which we are interested in. |

Shown in Fig.3 is the specific-heat profile we have extracted from our studies on the Josephson vortex system. We have found in particular that the order of the melting transition changes from first to second as the anisotropy of the system (as well as magnetic field) is increased, a prediction which awaits verification by experiments. |
