Energy Technology Research Workshop in Switzerland

Energy Technology Research Workshop has been successfully held from March 9th to March 12th, 2014 in Gstaad-Saanen, Switzerland as a commemorative event of the 150th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Switzerland and Japan. Prof. Kohei Uosaki (Director-General of GREEN) and Prof. Louis Schlapbach (Deputy Director of GREEN) organized this workshop with the aim of stimulating discussion and future collaboration between the two countries in energy R&D including new approaches to solve challenges of sustainable energy technologies, and national views on policies and economics of energy technologies.

More than 40 invited scientists and engineers from each country gave talks and presented posters in the workshop. Prof. Kiyoshi Kanamura (GREEN leader/Tokyo Metropolitan University), Dr. Takuya Masuda (GREEN leader/PRESTO Researcher), Dr. Takashi Morinaga (Principal Researcher) and Dr. Rudder Wu (Researcher) participated in the workshop with President Ushioda of NIMS, Prof. Uosaki and Prof. Schlapbach, and the workshop concluded after the active discussion and interchange among the participants.
