Tohoku Univ.& GREEN Joint Symposium (The 8th GREEN Symposium) report

The 1st Tohoku University & GREEN Joint Symposium (The 8th GREEN Symposium) was held at the Auditorium in the WPI-MANA Building at NIMS Namiki-site from June 2nd to June 3rd, 2014.

With a total of 136 participants, 5 oral presentations on Batteries and Fuel Cells were given by researchers from Tohoku University, and another 5 oral presentations on Fuel Cells, Rechargeable Batteries, Characterization and Computational Materials Science were given by NIMS researchers. Also poster presentations were made by the researchers from both organizations.

This symposium was a part of the efforts to promote research collaboration between Tohoku University and NIMS, and recent research trend and results on materials science for environment and energy at Tohoku University and GREEN (including member institutions) were discussed. In addition to that, discussions on promoting the collaborative researches, mutual management and use of the research facilities, and exchange of human resources were made lively between the both organizations.

Progress reports by the guest researchers of the GREEN Open Laboratory, which is one of the very important projects of GREEN, were presented in the symposium as before, as well as the GREEN Prize 2013 was granted at the reception of the symposium.
