Abstract
The traditional evening session of Intermag Conference is entitled "Magnetic Materials and Energy Research" this year.
I will identify the critical elements in the permanent magnet technology and discuss critical issues confronting us to achieve high-performance magnets free from the critical elements, many of which will be targeted by the Elements Strategy Initiative Center for Magnetic Materials recently established in NIMS.
