Synthesis of new nanoscale materials through low-temperature chemical processings and their function design
A unique class of 2D crystals with a molecular thickness, so-called "nanosheets," is synthesized by exfoliation of layered compounds into their unilamellar layers. Their physicochemical properties are explored to search for superior electronic, magnetic, optical and chemical functionalities originating from their peculiar 2D nanostate. Furthermore, the colloidal nanosheets are assembled or organized into functional nanostructured materials, which can contribute to the advancement of technologies in the electronics and energy/environmental fields.
