Dream Materials-Research of SUPER DIAMOND
Our group has given cubic boron nitride
films and single crystal diamond films the name super-diamond. They are synthesized by
a vapor-phase method.
The super-diamond is chemically stable and has a good thermal
conductivity as well as a good radiation resistance and various other
properties.
It is a "Dream Material" which has high expectations in the next
generation of semiconductor devices. In extreme environments it could
take the place of silicon. As pioneer in the world, we started the
super-diamond project in fiscal year 1993 and is engaged
systematically in the following three developments:
1.Thin Film Synthesis of Cubic
Boron Nitride
2.Synthesis of Diamond Films
3.Property Assessment
