Dr. Gary James Richards Gary Richards is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at NIMS. He was born in Hull, England in 1975. He completed his degree in Chemistry with Advanced Materials in 1997 at Hull University, UK. He received his PhD in 2000 after researching "Liquid Crystalline Materials for Electroluminescent Devices" under the supervision of Professor S.M. Kelly, also at Hull University. Following his PhD research, he completed two years post-doctoral research at Oxford University, UK under the supervision of Dr P.L Burn working on Dendrimers for OLED applications. He then spent a short time working as an organic chemist in industry, before coming to Japan. He started research at NIMS in August 2007.
