SRC Annual Report 2003 was issued.

We have published the Steel Research Centerfs second year annual report.

During the fiscal year of 2003, we made sure that each of the ultra-steel projects was promoted wholeheartedly and that there was progress with the missions and the strengthening in each of the five basic research groups. A New Infrastructure Research Team was established to search for the structural states by looking at both materials and structures, and a Process Engineering Team was initiated to keep track of the traditions and the new developments of production technology. They joined the Products Research Laboratory to form a 3-team system to carry out the missions of the center in a comprehensive way. We believe that the center has settled on the organization of 5 groups and 3 teams.

We were also able to make a lot of progress in establishing collaborations with private industries. This would allow our ultra-steel research results to be utilized both widely and efficiently. We are planning to make this scheme more official, but in the meantime we hope to obtain good results quickly to fulfill our expectations. We are also certain that this relationship will allow us to grasp the new developments and the buds to initiate new growth in our research.

The contents of the report are an updated version of the report that was published in 2002. We would like you to acknowledge it. Finally, we hope that you will continue to provide guidance and encouragement to all of us at the Steel Research Center.
