SRC Annual Report 2002 was issued.

     A year has passed quickly since the establishment of the Steel Research Center, and we are very thankful for your considerable guidance and support.

     As a result, we have been able to devote ourselves to the start of the second phase of the ultra-steel project, to face the new challenges of the Independent Agency Activation program, and to move ahead with the reorganization of the millennium related project.
In addition, the First ICASS 2002, which we hosted, developed into a grand scale meeting with a total of 285 participants.

     We have been publishing the Monthly STX-21 News and the annual report called the "Progress Report" to circulate information on our activities. We have decided to rename and publish the annual report from the current issue as “SRC Annual Report 2002” because it coincided with the establishment of our center.

     The purpose of this report is to introduce the yearly activities and the major results of the ultra-steel project to those within and outside Japan. We are planning to publish this report annually along with the Monthly STX-21 News and hope to establish it as a way to provide the latest information on our center.
