Development of coaxial atom probe based futuristic technologies for the biomaterials imaging & signal processing

講演要旨/Abstract:

Measuring vibrations of materials inside the living cell is a challenge. However, for the last century, several attempts were made to realize this particular goal. In the year 1952, Hodgkin and Huxley invented a metallic electrode and measured for the first time, how signal transmits across neuron. This was improved in the year 1984 by Sakeman and Neher. After that there was no development. We have introduced an additional metalic cover to reduce noise and this improvement is significant. I will discuss, how the design of this electrode can provide dramatic improvement in the sensitivity of the atomic probes. Geometric parameters can ensure a very high signal to noise ratio of the atomic patch clamps.
