Research Interests
* Biotemplate directed synthesis of functional materials (e.g., metal oxides, metal chalcogenides, carbon, silica-based composites, inorganic-organic hybrids) with hierarchical porous structures, nanostructures, periodic structures or hollow structures via wet chemistry method (e.g., sol-gel process, infiltration/calcination process, sonochemical method, layer-by-layer assembly method, hydrothermal method)
* Development of novel efficiency photocatalysts via templating approach for artificial photosynthesis (photochemical water splitting and CO2 reduction) and for photocatalytic pollutants degradation
* Development of self-doping techniques for anion-doping (N, I, S, P) into metal oxides for visible light response
  * Layer-by-layer assembly of layered nanostructured materials into core-shell structures or thin films for photochemical water splitting
