Nanogrowth Group is engaged in fabrication of semiconductor nanostructures by MBE, MOCVD, Electron Beam Assisted Deposition, etc. and in sophisticated structural analyses by a variety of surface measurements and high-resolution electron microscope studies. It is aiming at creation of fascinating quantum devices by developing novel fabrication technologies of nanostructures. |

At National Research Institute for Metals (NIMS at present), self-assembly of quantum dots was achieved by droplet epitaxy, or Koguchi method, for the first time. Nanogrowth group is further improving fabrication technologies of nanostructures including droplet epitaxy, and is devoted to development of the basic technology for device applications in the fields of photonics, information & communication, and clean energy. We accept and supervise graduate students in collaboration with Tsukuba University. The graduate students are offered a salary as a research assistant.
