Microwave assisted magnetization switching has been expected as one of
the future magnetic recording techniques. As well as the fact that this
technique can significantly reduce the switching field, new recording schemes
such as multilevel recording are also expected due to utilizing the rf
frequency as a recording parameter in addition to the conventional parameter
of magnetic field. In this talk, the theoretical treatment for the microwave
assisted magnetization switching and the substantive experiments using
perpendicular magnetic dots will be explained.
