The Functional Thin Films Group focuses on ultrathin films that are the most important form to practically use nano/organic modules, and aims at developing the unique molecular functions. Preparation of mechanically stable, ultrathin, free-standing films with molecular recognition properties makes it possible to design new nano-separation systems necessary for “Green Chemistry”. We also address the development of ultrasensitive protein sensors and efficient separation and nano-scale filtration film for high-speed water purification.
