31 Jul, 2015

The Nanotechnology Students' Summer School 2015 was held in MANA from 29th June to 3rd July for five days.

The Nanotechnology Students' Summer School, which has been held in Japan, the UK, and the US since 2004, aims to nurture highly international and interdisciplinary students and to develop scientific exchange between participating institutions.

This year, 25 students from five countries: Japan, Canada, US, Australia, and France, have joined this summer school. Their assignment was to work together and create a new idea contributing to the society, using the principles of "nanoarchitectonics" with atomic precision. They’ve discussed a lot about the assignment with each other, respecting to all the members among different various cultures.

In this summer school, they’ve not only broadened their perspectives about nanotechnology, but also learned the food culture in Japan from “Soba” cooking class, and communicated with each other in BBQ party planned by students themselves.
