5 Oct, 2015

The workshop “Nanostructures and Complex Functional Materials” was held in San Sebastian, Spain for two days from August 27 (Thursday) to 28 (Friday), 2015, organized by MANA and Donostia Internatinoal Physics Center (DIPC).

This workshop was planned for the further research collaborations based on the joint research memorandum (MOU) signed by both research centers last August. Thirty-one researchers in total, 10 researchers from MANA and University of Tsukuba from Japan and 21 researchers from DIPC, gathered to report latest research achievements from each research region including Plasmonics, Molecular electronics, Photoelectron spectroscopy and Surface science, and had active discussions to exchange opinions.

In addition, Prof. Pedro Miguel Echenique, the President of DIPC and Prof. Masakazu Aono, the Director-General of MANA was attended the signing ceremony of MOU which was formally held during this workshop. This ceremony was featured in local media because of a great deal of attention.
