Program for Promoting Establishment of Strategic Research Centers on Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology (MEXT)
 
  Program for Promoting Establishment of Strategic Research Centers on Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology (MEXT) started in 2001 and 13 programs have been adopted. At present 2 has terminated and 11 are in process.
  The purpose of program is to encourage organizational reform of research and development centers under the excellent idea and leadership of the presidents concerned, in order to create both internationally outstanding research centers and research personnel.
