Mechanical workshops are located in both Sengen site and Namiki site, and
possess many machine tools
such as conventional lathe machines / universal milling machines / drilling
machines and so on as the
support facilities of a material science study. These machines are used
for urgent production such as
parts / specimens in a research.
In addition, we provide technical
consultation for a design / production of a work and advice to users, too

Trend toward nanotechnology of research activities of materials science are prompting us to adapt our competencies to ultra-precision/fine machining of metal and nonmetal materials as an urgent mission. In light of this research trend, we have introduced a CAD/CAM system to facilitate the implementation of machining of complicated shapes, difficult-to-machine materials, and precision/fine products, tasks that were previously impossible to carry out by using conventional machine tools.
