At the moment, the following positions are open.

  • NIMS tenure researcher 「R19-04」Multiscale Computational Materials Science @ IFCS Group. The application deadline: 19 June 2019.
  • NIMS Junior Researcher (Ph. D students in Tateyama group in Waseda Univ. or Tokyo Inst. Tech.)
  • NIMS post-doctoral fellow [Re-open on 19 April 2019]

NOTE: There are some international guest houses and many international researchers in Tsukuba, So, daily life of foreign researchers will be easily settled. Also, the IFCS group has many projects and guests as well as high activities. So, it is possible for the members to build up their skill and career here.

NOTE: For those who already had contacted with Dr. Y. Tateyama, please re-try to get in touch with him if they are still interested in the subjects in this group.

(1) NIMS tenure researcher「R19-04」Multiscale Computational Materials Science @ IFCS Gr.

The detail information will be found on the NIMS official employment  page.

The qualified candidate will conduct computational research on science and technology of various materials and surfaces/interfaces, related to battery and catalyst. In particular, she/he will explore multi-scale reactions and processes, which can't be treated properly by atomistic first-principles/quantum chemistry calculations only. Via developing multiscale calculation programs (e.g. microkinetics, coarse-grained, continuum models) and/or combining AI (e.g. machine learning) techniques, she/he will address solving the multiscale issues and establishing the fundamental theories.
