Materials Database Station

The Materials Database Station provides the world's largest materials database via the Internet.

This Station discloses the world's largest level database concerning materials via the Internet. We aim to support the acquisition of solutions useful to the development of new materials, the optimum use of materials, and the selection of optimum materials by providing fundamental information on materials ranging from the atomic and molecular level to the industrial and social infrastructure scale of crystals, materials, and structural elements.

The NIMS materials database (MatNavi) gather the useful numerical data from the metallic material database based on the datasheet of creep and the academic document made public and are composed of the polymer, the inorganic material, the diffusion, and the superconducting material data base, etc. This data can be used not only for material development, the optimum use of materials, and selection of optimum materials, but also to predict and compare material properties and identify materials via a material dictionary. To make the database easier to use, we will respect user opinions as much as possible and proceed with the development in line with user needs.
