Materials Database Station
The Materials Database Station provides the world's largest materials database via the Internet.
This Station discloses the world's largest level database concerning materials via the Internet. We aim to support the acquisition of solutions useful to the development of new materials, the optimum use of materials, and the selection of optimum materials by providing fundamental information on materials ranging from the atomic and molecular level to the industrial and social infrastructure scale of crystals, materials, and structural elements.

The NIMS materials database gathers useful numerical data from the structural material database based on creep and fatigue data sheets and publicized academic documents, and is composed of the polymer, crystal base, diffusion, and pressure vessel material databases. This data can be used not only for material development, the optimum use of materials, and selection of optimum materials, but also to predict and compare material properties and identify materials via a material dictionary. To make the database easier to use, we will respect user opinions as much as possible and proceed with the development in line with user needs.
