Title

Neutron Scattering study on coupled multipole system

Abstract

Multipole of 4f electrons and the coupling with magnetism play important role for the physical properties in rare earth compounds. This is widely accepted from the many examples of neutron and synchrotron radiation studies of f-electron states and the order-parameters. We need sophisticated technique with e.g. polarization analysis or representational methods which are useful even for large J and become more and more familiar. We introduce the powerfulness of those methods with a example of our recent study on NdB4.
