Job Summary (1) Multi-scale simulations of interfacial chemical reactions on the K computer and (2) development of a state-space search method based on datascience as well as mathematics for efficient search of reactions and materials on the "post-K" computer. 
  This project is under the sub-profect B "energy conversion & storage" in the priority issue 5 "Energy science & technology" for the post-K computer (http://post-k-cse.ims.ac.jp/).  The qualified candidate will work under supervisions of Prof. K. Akagi (AIMR, Tohoku Univ. ) and Dr. Y. Tateyama (NIMS).
  1. PhD in physics, chemistry or materials science.
  2. Experience of molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and electronic state calculation. 
  3. Knowledge of Python programming for possible improvement of the codes.
  4. Significant interest in multi-scale simulation methods taking data science and mathematics into account.
  5. Willing to intensively contribute to the group activity as well as discussion with the collaborators.
  6. Excellent English writing and communication skills.
Starting Date Anytime after 1 April 2018 (negotiable)
Term Until 31 March 2019 for the first round (renewable depending on the performance)
