Job Summary The successful candidate will work on development of large-scale DFT calculation methods and the implementation of the new methods to our linear-scaling DFT code, jointly developed in our group and University College London. The candidate is also expected to use/develop machine learning techniques in the large-scale DFT study. The targets of the applications can be nano-structured materials, biological systems or materials in the earth deep interiors. 
Qualification The applicant must have, or expect to obtain the degree of theoretical condensed matter science before the start of the job. Experiences with electronic structure methods are essential. 
Starting Date As early as possible
Term For one year (can be renewed subject to performance)
Work Place NIMS, Namiki site, Theoretical Research Building
Work Hours According to NIMS regulations
Holiday Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays
