9th International Symposium on Nanotechnology (JAPAN NANO 2011)

The Nanotechnology Network Program is an entrusted project of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), under which 13 research centers that possess advanced nanotechnology facilities and equipment provide researchers in industry, academia, and governmental organizations with opportunities to use those facilities, with the aim of creating research results which will lead to innovation. The 9th International Symposium on Nanotechnology (JAPAN NANO 2011) will be held as part of the activities of the Nanotechnology Network Program.

JAPAN NANO 2011 will present a broad view of the status of research and development in Japan and other countries aimed at solving problems related to the environment, energy, and resources currently confronting the world through the use of nanotechnology, from the actual sites where this research is being carried out on a daily basis.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Prof. Emeritus Teruo Kishi of the University of Tokyo, who is also a former President of NIMS. Prof. Sumio Iijima of Meijo University and other distinguished scientists have also been invited to deliver Special Lectures, and frontline researchers from Japan and other countries who are investigating the use of nanotechnology to solve environmental, energy, and resource problems have been invited to present Invitational Lectures. Through this introduction of the recent condition of research and development and poster presentations of the Nanotechnology Network and Low-Carbon Research Network Japan (Lcnet), the objective of the JAPAN NANO 2011 is to provide a platform where those concerned can share information on topics in nanotechnology research and research trends related the environment, energy, and resources.
