On August 29, NTU-NIMS SMART-Center Workshop was held at Namiki site of NIMS. SMART Center (Center of Strategic Materials Alliance for Research and Technology) was established at both campuses of National Taiwan University and NIMS on 26th July 2013.

SMART Center members from both sides gathered to share the results of first year’s activity since the center was established and to discuss further collaborative research for the second year and beyond.

NIMS and NTU have concluded the Comprehensive Collaborative Agreement (a sister institute agreement) in February, 2012 and the International Cooperative Graduate School Agreement in January, 2013. A joint workshop was also held in January, 2013. Based on such zeal for collaboration at both sides and a very strong support from the NTU leadership, the two institutes have been cooperating on various advanced materials, encouraging a researchers exchange and a joint use of research facilities.

The collaborative research between National Taiwan University and NIMS is expected to be accelerated with the SMART Center, as a core of the activities.
