| Kind of work | Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM) is the online, open-access English language journal published by the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). The Editorial Office of STAM is seeking a highly motivated person with a doctorate in materials science or related subjects to join the editorial team as a Reviews Editor. STAM is a source of timely and in-depth information for materials scientists worldwide. The journal publishes original research papers and review articles covering areas including metals, inorganic and organic materials, biocompatible materials, and nanotechnology. In 2009 STAM’s ranking within ‘materials science and multidisciplinary research’ journals rose to 36 out of 212; establishing STAM as the highest ranking journal specializing in materials science published in Japan. | Starting date | June 2011 (negotiable) |
| Employment term | A one year contract, renewable up to a maximum of five years, depending on performance, until the age of 65. |
| Work location | NIMS Sengen Site (Tsukuba city, Ibaraki) |
| Work hours | Seven hours per day, five days a week at the NIMS Sengen campus, in Tsukuba. |
| Holiday | Saturdays, Sundays and Japanese National Holidays |
| Salary & conditions | According to NIMS payment policy. |
