Our aim is to serve Japanese nations and the people in the world via developments in Electroceramics.. We are making effort to contribute on healthy, safe and con fort able life of the people.

We are devoting, 1) Developments in electroceramics for IT society, 2) Developments in ceramics for saving earth environment, and 3) Investigation of ceramics science to realize complete understanding of the ceramics and its related issues.

Our definition for electroceramics is a little wider than what you imagine. We think electroceramics is the ceramic material in which motion of electrons are essential to the appearance of their useful functions. For example, we are interested in catalytic materials, such as ZnO and TiO2. The properties of photo-catalyst is somewhat similar to phosphor materials. In general, photo-catalyst are wide-band-gap materials, which is one of the most important material for electroceramics in narrow meaning.

Ceramics sounds somehow traditional. However, we believe that developments in ceramics science can be a key to open a new world. As you know, culture of human beings started from the stone age and, ceramics is a kind of artificial stone. Let us open a new age, "High - Tech Stone Age".
