CPPGMR using Heusler alloys as ferromagnetic electrodes

CPPGMR is promising for reading heads for high density media because of lower resistance than TMR. However, low MR ratio compared to TMR is still a disadvantage. For improving the MR ratio, it is highly promising to use half metallic heusler alloys as ferromagnetic electrodes. In this talk, I would describe experimental methods for preparing microstructures for measuring CPPGMR. Recent results of CPPGMR by using Heusler alloys are presented.
