Toward the ordering of FePt-SiO2 granular films at low temperature
T. O. Seki
At last my talk, it was reported that small particles and
narrow size distribution in FePt-SiO2 granular films deposited
at low temperature were achieved. However the degree of ordering
to L10 phase was low, and the coercivity of this film was almost zero.
It is necessary to promote the ordering with keeping this small
particle. For this challenge, many studies have been reported, such as
the deposition under high Ar pressure, addition of Ag and Pt-rich
composition. In this work, I report my recent attempts for the ordering
at low temperature.
Observation of TMR enhancement in spin-dependent resonance tunneling
K. Inomata
Spin dependent resonance tunneling is a new phenomenon in spintronics. We
have already observed the oscillation of the differential conductance due to
the quantum well states formed in epitaxial double barrier tunnel junctions.
In this study we investigated the spin dependent tunneling for
Cr/ultrathinFe/MgO/Fe junctions formed on a MgO(001) substrate. We have
successfully fabricated the layered structure for an ultrathin Fe, and
observed the quantum well states in a ultrathin Fe layer. We also
demonstrate the TMR enhancement due to the spin-dependent resonance
tunneling for the first time, which was observed even at room temperature.
