Scope and Message from AMEC-6 General Chair
The Asian Meeting on Electroceramics was first (AMEC-1) held at October, 2000 and second (AMEC-2) at October, 2001 in both Kawasaki, Japan in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the Electronics Division Meeting of the Ceramic Society of Japan. This is situated on the first continuous international meeting focusing on Asian area to contribute to the exchange both scientifically and industrially of Electroceramics technologies organized by the Electronics Division of the Ceramic Society of Japan. The concept of the meeting is based on the report and discussion of inorganic materials research and development toward to the 21 century by JSPS (Japan Society for The Promotion of Science) because electroceramics technologies are expected to develop rapidly particularly in Asia. Scientists and engineers from universities, research institutes and companies are cordially invited to attend the meeting, which aims to provide a forum and opportunity for growing the future researchers in the field of electroceramics. Following to the previous two meetings, the third one (AMEC-3) was held at December, 2003 in Singapore in conjunction with the Symposium E: Electronic and Advanced Ceramics of the International Conference of Materials for Advanced Technology 2003 (ICMAT-2003), After the Singapore meeting, AMEC-4 and AMEC-5 were held at June, 2005 in Hangzhou, China and at December, 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand, respectively. The Sixth Asian Meeting on Electroceramics (AMEC-6) will be held on October 22-24, 2008 at the International Exchange Hall of NIMS in Tsukuba, Japan, again in conjunction with the 28th Electronics Division Meeting of the Ceramic Society of Japan. The meeting will be organized by the National Institute of Materials and Science of Japan (NIMS) and the Electronics Division of the Ceramic Society of Japan and co-organized by several scientific societies of Japan. The Organizing Committee would be happy if all the participants would use this opportunity to hold lively discussion and to exchange opinions and information so that the meeting will be fruitful. The scientific program will be constructed by Plenary, Keynote ＆Invited and Oral presentations with following some Poster presentations on Theoretical, Experimental and Applications of Electroceramics. The conference Proceedings will be published in the International Journal, “Key Engineering Materials” published in Switzerland within one year after the meeting. Also the encouragement award is planned for young scientists under 40 years old who are submitted his/her manuscript for the proceedings. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

Tentative Schedule

Proceedings
All authors are invited to submit their papers to publish their contributed work at AMEC-6 to this special issue in Key Engineering Materials, “Proceedings of the 6th Asian Meeting on Electroceramics”. Acceptance of papers will be subjected to peer review. The selected papers will be published at no charge. Prior to publishing in Key Engineering Materials, authors must submit their manuscripts to the AMEC-6 Technical Committee.

★Yanagida Memorial International Symposium★
This symposium will be held in memory of the late Professor Hiroaki Yanagida of the University of Tokyo.
He created new fields in electronic ceramics.

Young Scientist Award
AMEC-6 organizing committee proudly announces the “Young Scientist Award”. Winners will be selected by a committee that considers the abstract quality and the presentation while the conference. To be eligible for an award, applicants must be younger than 40 year old as of October 22, 2008

Students** 10,000 JP Yen

* Individual fee includes attendance to all technical sessions and public lectures, conference materials. (The fee of welcome reception, daily coffee breaks and banquet is all free for individual participants.)
**　Students will receive the same entitlements (except banquet) as a regular delegate (individual). Those who wish to be registered under the student category should submit evidence to confirm their student status.
