The 9th ICNSEE Seminar

We had Dr. Ryu Abe (Associate professor of Catalysis Research Center, Hokkaido University) for our 9th ICNSEE seminar, which was held in the conference room #2 of Sengen site in NIMS on October 26th, 2010.

The theme for this seminar was Photocatalysts, and the lecture titled as “Development of Visible Light Driven Photocatalysts for Water-Splitting and Environmental Purification” was given. A new type of photocatalitic water splitting system (see Figure), mimicking the mechanism of photosynthesis in green plants, which has been developed recently, among other researches of his were presented during the seminar, and an active questions-and-answer session was exchanged afterward.
